Close your eyes. Imagine a place where you can safely sample hundreds of new and fabulous gluten-free and allergy-friendly foods and products. Imagine that you enter this place, greeted with smiles and a large tote bag stocked with goodies. Now, open your eyes, folks! Welcome to the Gluten-Free and Allergen Friendly (GF&AF) Expo!
Chicago-area friends, the Gluten-Free and Allergen Friendly Expo is returning to the Schaumburg Convention Center on April 7th and 8th. The GF&AF Expo is the largest event of its kind in the United States! It hosts over one hundred exhibitors and two days of classes offered by some of the most prominent movers and shakers in the health and gluten-free communities.
Wanna know why I’m so passionate about this event?
It’s simple. My son, Noah, was diagnosed with celiac disease at the age of 7. The abrupt loss of some of his favorite foods and having to bring his own GF food to parties and events left him feeling robbed and alienated. The GF&AF Expo is a place of safe and unscrutizined eating–a place where Noah can eat like a child should be able to–with joy and reckless abandon. Where else can your gluten-free child (or self) do this? With all of the restrictions that someone with celiac endures on a daily basis, I can understand why Noah looks forward to the Expo all year. I just love the enthusiastic way he talks about it…“This is my special day, “ he proudly declares.
I’m extra excited about this year’s Expo because I’ve been selected as one of the event’s official bloggers! I’m thrilled to be able to meet so many new and familiar faces, try the latest and greatest products, and share my favorite discoveries on my blog and social media. I love to cook and provide my family with delicious new gluten-free meals, and I’m looking forward to sharing!
There’s something for both new and seasoned GF-ers
This would be my family’s third time attending/participating in the Expo. Each year we have experienced new speakers, new vendors, and new products to sample and bring home. It’s always well worth the price of admission and it’s never the same event twice.
